Between 2017 and 2018 the Djazairouna association completed a program focusing on decent work and social protection, specifically against the exclusion of women from the labor market and by providing information on the mechanisms of social protection. Several activities took place, such as conducting a focus group as well as two studies on existing project financing schemes and job search procedures, or a workshop on "Decent Work for Women, social protection and access to property". In addition, in November 2016, Djazairouna organized another workshop in Blida on "the socio-economic rights of women in Algeria", which was closed with a set of recommendations for the promotion and protection of women’s rights. These recommendations were then the subject of an advocacy campaign with local and national authorities.
These initiatives in favor of women’s rights are part of the “Decent Work, Social Protection and Freedom of Association in the Middle East and North Africa: Mobilising for Social Justice by strengthening and promoting CSOs, social movements and (independent) trade unions’ role in reforms and democratic changes” project managed by the SOLIDAR network and funded by the European Union.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
