The project "Promotion of Women’s Self Employment" is a citizens’ initiative that promotes the human development and emancipation of women in Azrou and the Middle Atlas. The project "Promotion of women’s self-employment, implemented by the Association TAZGHART-AZROU in partnership with the Embassy of France in Morocco, Cooperation and Cultural Action Service - governance cluster, was launched during a ceremony that took place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Cultural Center in the city of Azrou.

This social initiative aims first and foremost to promote the leadership and entrepreneurship of rural women as a catalyst for community development in the Middle Atlas region.

The project aims to target about 30 women leaders and social entrepreneurs in Azrou and the Middle Atlas and offers them a training-action program, support and sharing experiences throughout the year of 2018. This training will focus on women’s leadership and entrepreneurship, financial autonomy, the legal framework of cooperatives, self-employment, the set up and management of income-generating projects, monitoring and evaluation, partnership, the mobilization of funds and marketing and management; it will also include local support workshops led by practitioners, an visit exchange in the South East Territory, and the mobilization of partners and actors and stakeholders in the field of social and solidarity economy and female entrepreneurship.

It should be noted that financial support will be mobilized to support women who have projects.

In addition to the beneficiaries of the project, the event will also bring together major players and other partners of the TAZGHART-AZROU association such as the representatives of the INDH of Ifrane province, the Azrou territorial authority, the Development Agency Social, the Office of Development and Cooperation, ANAPEC, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the banking sector, representative of the associative world and media.

This kick-off workshop was also an opportunity to inform beneficiaries about the spirit, scope and objectives of the project, to create networking opportunities for selected rural women and to initiate a reflection on the emergence of an entrepreneurial ecosystem that would lead to the development of rural women’ entrepreneurship.
