Gender equality project for women factory workers in Zarqa governorate, Jordan.
With the support of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation, a team from the Jordanian Business and Professional Women´s Forum visited a number of factories to identify the conditions of women factory workers in Zarqa governorate, the difficulties they face, and the extent of gender equality. The Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women (JFBPW) is a not-for-profit business association that was established in 1976 for the purpose of serving the Jordanian business and professional women, and increasing their contribution to the development of the national economy of Jordan.
Its mission is “to be the platform that develops, empowers and advocates business and professional women in Jordan”. The forum is dedicated to achieve the purpose of its initiation through technical and professional support, advocacy, networking and fostering constructive dialogues and actions that empower businesswomen nationally, regionally and internationally.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
