The European Institute of the Mediterranean - IEMed hosted the event entitled “The Catalan society and the women’s promotion in the Mediterranean area” which took place on 25th January, 2017, at 18.30h at the quarter of the IEMed (Girona Street, 20. Barcelona).
This event was an opportunity for public and private foundations and associations working to strengthen women’s role in Catalonia and the Mediterranean countries, to present their projects and share their experiences in order to achieve a better communication in the field of gender.
It included the presentation of the “Women in the Mediterranean’'First monitoring report of the Ministerial Conferences of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation. It will gather, among others, the director of the Women’s Catalan Institute, the Catalan goverment's Foreign Affairs and European Union's Secretary, the representative of the Association of Organisations of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME) and many other organizations working in Catalonia and abroad.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
