The Foundation met Hafida Benchehida, founding member and executive director of the Arab Women Parliamentarian Network. The Network aims at training, promoting, empowering women and working on advocacy in order to prepare them for parliamentarian campaigns, elections, work and having access to superior levels of decision-making. Arab Women Parliamentarian Network promotes and encourages women to have an executive role in the media as well as in the private and administration sectors. Furthermore, the Network fights against stereotypes, taboos and brings a change of mentality among women.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
