MARCH Lebanon Association is a member of the Foundation’s network of networks since May 2015. MARCH was founded in 2011 to create an open-minded Lebanese society with diversity and gender equality among all its constituents. The NGO mainly focuses on promoting freedom of expression and fighting for equality in rights, which includes defending women's rights. Additionally, MARCH focuses on conflict resolution activities using art and culture as tools for peace-building.
The Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation hosted a capacity-building workshop in Barcelona with 36 representatives of civil society organizations working for gender equality. 12 of them, including MARCH Lebanon Association, were selected for implementing successful practices on advocacy and policy dialogue in order to foster the transfer of lessons learnt as well as networking in this sector. This action is part of the CSO WINS project, financed by the EU.
Zeinab Arteil, Program Coordinator of MARCH, explains in English (subtitles in English, French and Arabic are available) their selected practice: a campaign against domestic violence, entitled “I am Unbeatable”.
