On 14 and 15 April, the IEMed, headquarters of the Foundation, hosted the meeting of the Mediterranean Network of information and communication with a gender vision. The purpose of the meeting was to build, through experiences of journalism and communication with gender vision both in the mainstream media and in the alternative media (blogs and social networks), a more democratic and egalitarian society. This meeting allowed them to discuss several current themes; such as the reporting of violence against refugee women and the impact of the war in Syria on women’s situation in the neighboring countries, the processing of information and the presence of women in the media as well as advanced legislation on equality in some Mediterranean countries.
At this meeting, the activities of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation were presented as well as the monitoring report of the Ministerial Conferences, entitled "Women in the Mediterranean". Several journalists have expressed interest in joining the network of networks of the Foundation in the category of "Media". The meeting was held in parallel with the VI Meeting of the International Network of Journalists with a vision of gender (RIPVG) which brought together 157 women journalists from 27 countries of the world at the College of Journalists of Catalonia in Barcelona.
