This research seminar of RUSEMEG was organized at the Faculty of Letters of Arts and Humanities of Manouba in cooperation with CREDIF and CAWTAR. The seminar aimed to provide a cross-reflection on gender-based violence and to initiate more research on this issue, through the dissemination of existing research projects.
The first morning, several researchers presented interventions on violence in the family and domestic environment as well as national and international violence exerted on all scales (wartime rape, sex tourism, etc.). The fact that the bill against violence against women is being drafted in Tunisia was also mentioned.
In the afternoon, the meeting between researchers and associations campaigning on the ground against types of violence was marked by the participation of Mrs. Samira Marai Friaa, Minister for Women, Family and Children which took part in the exchanges. Finally, the Seminar concluded with the doctoral workshop that offered an educational and fruitful dialogue between professors and young researchers.
