Supporters of the project "Strengthening the capacity of equality actors" are pleased to announce the list of civil society organizations that will be responsible for encouraging networking among different equality actors in their countries. From September 2015, seven pilot actions to promote the sharing of experiences and consultation will be launched in the beneficiary countries of the project: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia. Their objective will be to follow up monitoring policies on a specific topic related to equal rights for women and men to participate in political, economic, civil and social life; to gather successful practices in this field and to define concrete and innovative tracks of projects in order to meet identified deficiencies.
This project is led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean - IEMed, the Center of Arab Women for Training and Research - CAWTAR, the French government, the Fédération de la Ligue Démocratique des Droits des Femmes au Maroc – FLDDF, the Forum Femmes Méditerranée - FFM and the Euro-Mediterranean academic and scientific network on gender and women - RUSEMEG, with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development - MAEDI. This project is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of actors working for gender equality", of the project Women for the future in the Mediterranean, funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development and the project “Developing Women’s Empowerment”, labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
