19 to 21 May, Barcelona

Based on the conclusions of the 1st Conference on Women’s Empowerment, held on 26 and 27 March 2014, this conference will bring together key regional actors with the aim of identifying the opportunities and challenges and define strategic actions contributing to promoting a more equitable growth as a crucial factor for the political, social and economic development of the region. 250 representatives of key actors involved in women’s socio-economic empowerment are expected in this high-level conference.

The Foundation has been invited to participate in two sessions

• “UfM for women: projects and partnerships (launch of UfM-labelled projects and presentation of new initiatives”, on 19 May at 5.30 pm.
• “Launch of the new UfM projects”, on 21 May at 9.30 am.

These sessions will help detail the Foundation’s objectives, its work tools, notably its website, and its current projects on mobilisation and strengthening the capacities of the equality actors. The Foundation will present its first publication, Women in the Mediterranean. First report of the Euro-Mediterranean Women's Foundation. Monitoring of the Ministerial Conferences recently released. The action of the Foundation is part of the project “Developing Women’s Empowerment”, labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
