AIFED coordinates the project ‘The Power of Stories’ granted by SEPIE, the Erasmus Spanish National Agency
Storytelling is an ancient form of communication. It is a powerful tool that can motivate people to do incredible things, it is a source of inspiration. A story helps listeners to see through another’s eyes and to share their experiences. A good story can capture people’s attention and may challenge them to think differently about an issue. It can be the route for change.
"The greatest revolution in a country is the one that changes women and their way of life. You cannot have a revolution without women." (Oriana Fallaci)
"Give women suitable opportunities and they will be capable of anything." (Oscar Wilde)
"No struggle can end victoriously unless women participate in it alongside men. There are two powers in the world: that of the sword and that of the pen. But in reality, there is a third, stronger than both, and that is that of women." (Malala Yousafzai)
The words of Oriana Fallaci, Oscar Wilde and Malala Yousafzai have a message in common: women’s role in change. Women are the symbol of great power in stories. Since ancient times they have been the fulcrum of life and family. When women have a purpose, they become much more powerful. In this case the purpose is change. During the centuries they have been excluded by political and many social and cultural activities, but they had and still play a key role in the socio-economic development of society.
Within this project we aim to use the power of stories to ignite creativity in adults and develop their resilience skills and capacity to come up with innovative solutions for different challenges. For this two intellectual Outputs will be developed: 1. Research and Collection of Stories: Each partner will do research at a local level (regional, national) and collect at least 15 stories that have meaning within the project objectives. The stories will be “tested” with groups of adults at a local level – testing that they have a meaning and they trigger feelings and behaviors. 2. Training Course Modules: The training course aims to train adult educators to use storytelling in developing creativity and resilience and promoting the social inclusion of vulnerable groups. There will be six modules for this training course. We keep on working!! Read our Flipbook
