The Children of Female Prisoners Association, headed by the writer Nawal Mustafa, won the Samuel Habib Award for Excellence in Creative Voluntary Work. The Association committed to rehabilitate the female prisoners in situation of poverty and to integrate them into society by supporting and empowering them economically, socially and legally.
The ceremony was launched on the evening of Monday, February 28, 2022, at the headquarters of the Coptic Evangelical Commission, in the presence of Dr. Nevin El-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Hisham Tawfik, Minister of Business Sector, Writer Nawal Mostafa, President and founder of the Association of Women Prisoners, and Dr. Andre Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Community in Egypt in the Commission.
The writer Nawal Mustafa, in her speech while receiving the award, expressed her happiness and also confirmed that the "Samuel Habib Award" for excellence in creative volunteer work is one of the most important awards that the association has won over the course of its work for more than three decades, extending thanks to the Coptic Evangelical Commission, the awarding body of the award.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
