On Monday, March 7, 2022, the Community Media Center in Gaza inaugurated the activities and events of March 8th, International Women’s Day, by launching a digital advocacy campaign on the hashtag #protectionisaright, with the participation of 25 young people of both sexes, beneficiaries of CMC programs and projects.
The campaign comes within the framework of the “Society and Media Mobilization to Promote Women’s Access to Justice and Security in the Gaza Strip” project within the second phase of the Sawasiya project, the joint program between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), UN-WOMEN and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to promote The rule of law in Palestine.
The project aims to improve women’s access to justice to enhance their rights through advocacy and awareness efforts and to raise awareness of concepts of gender justice, human rights and women’s rights in international conventions and combating gender-based violence, as well as raising societal awareness of the importance of cybercrime prevention. International Women’s Day is an occasion to renew and intensify work in this sense.
