Like every year, to commemorate International Women’s Day, Barcelona City Council announces the March 8-Maria Aurèlia Capmany Award to reflect on a topic of social and gender impact.
For this 36th edition of the award, the theme chosen is “Feminist economics: we advance against the precariousness of women in the city”. The objective of the award is to support projects with a gender, intersectional and social justice perspective, which help to advance in the fight against job insecurity and female poverty.
Conditions of participation:
The projects must be unprecedented or in the initial process. They must include the intersectional gender perspective and be achievable in the city of Barcelona. Individuals, groups, associations or other non-profit entities from Barcelona can apply for the award. In the case of groups that are not legally formalized and that are made up only of natural persons, the person representing the group must be registered in the city of Barcelona.
Prizes and endowment:
Jury Prize for the Best Project, endowed with 15,000 euros.
Audience Award for Best Project, endowed with 3,000 euros.
Presentation of projects: from February 11 to March 10, 2022 (both included)
