The CMC implemented a capacity-building program to prepare trainers in promoting legal awareness against Gender-Based Violence, in partnership and funded by Terre des Hommes- Switzerland.
Andalib Adwan, Director of the Community Media Center, said that this is part of the activities of the project “Improving the level of protection for women and youth from gender-based violence - our safe spaces”, which aims to provide better protection from violence for women, girls and youth in the Gaza Strip, by intensifying awareness-raising and advocacy efforts, and by activating support and rehabilitation services in the Gaza Strip.
Kholoud Al-Sawalmeh, Project Manager at CMC, explained that 27 lawyers and young activists benefited from the training, which lasted for 10 days, with 50 training hours, which included theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
