Mobilising for Rights Associate (MRA) is delighted to announce the launch of the new Marsadnissa.ma online Observatory of court decisions in women’s rights cases in Morocco. The trilingual database is intended to serve as an interactive, dynamic, and practical tool for local NGOs, lawyers, judges, policy makers, researchers, activists, journalists and others to access and analyze local court decisions on women’s rights issues. It also provides concrete examples and models of good practices in human rights-based pleadings and judicial decisions to be shared and used by lawyers and judges across the country.
As one of the main objectives of the Observatory is to highlight and widely share court decisions on women’s rights in Morocco, current efforts are focusing on monitoring and documenting the implementation by the judicial system of Law 103-13 on violence against women in Morocco. This redesigned, updated and enriched platform is the result of more than a year of assessments and grassroots-level consultations with local partner NGOs and advocates across the country.
Many thanks to Association Amal pour la femme et le développement (El Hajeb), Tafiil Moubadarat (Taza), Association Anaouat pour Femme et Enfant (Chichaoua), Fédération des Ligues des Droits des Femmes (Ouarzazate), Association Mhashass pour le développement humain (Larache), and Association Voix de femmes marocaines (Agadir). Many thanks also to the Norwegian Embassy in Morocco and Jus Mundi for making this possible.
MRA invites you to visit and consult the new Observatory here.
