The Children of Female Prisoners’ Care Association (CFPA), headed by the writer Nawal Mustafa, organized an educational trip to the book fair; This is within the framework of the educational program provided by the Child Creativity Center of the association.
The day included many different programs offered to 30 children under the auspices of Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, and the presence of Dr. Haitham El-Hah, President of the Egyptian General Book Authority and his deputy, Dr. Ahmed Bahy El-Din.
The visit also included workshops on storytelling by a number of specialists for children about the characters of the book fair.The exhibition management was also keen on distributing a number of symbolic gifts and publications related to children.
For her part, the writer Nawal Mustafa stressed her keenness for children to visit the book fair in its 53rd session; This is because culture reflects on the child’s personality in terms of forming awareness and giving them confidence and knowledge.
She also indicated that based on the link between the ABCs of the cultural role and social dimensions, the Ministry of Culture was keen to receive and host a large number of children of female prisoners with the aim of integrating them naturally into society.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
