Social movements: Lebanon, Iraq, Algeria

The year 2019 was marked by intense social movements in different countries of the world, where they appeared simultaneously. They were inspired by previous movements and stimulated each other. This is the case of Lebanon, Iraq and Algeria, whose movements’ origins, causes, development and impact on society are examined in this book, with particular attention to the participation of women who have been very active in these movements. Similar results appear: fall of governments, economic and social upheavals, exacerbation of existing tensions in society, etc.

In this book, we try to answer questions such as: How have these movements changed society? What repression affected them? what are the reasons leading to their attenuation and decline? What will their future be? Will they have a longer term impact?

The book is available as an e-book on the publisher’s website (Arab Scientific Editions, Beirut) www.NWF.com (the website is in Arabic, click to translate and download the NWF application).
