The Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip concluded the activities of the project entitled Promoting the Active Participation of Women in the Democratic Process

The Society of Women Graduates in the Gaza Strip concluded the activities of the project "Promoting the Active Participation of Women in the Democratic Process", which was implemented in cooperation with the Central Elections Committee and funded by the European Union / Phase Two 2021, with the partnership of civil society institutions.

The project included a set of activities, including holding a training course for 29 female graduates on the participation of women in the electoral process, followed by the implementation of 40 awareness raising workshops on women’s political participation and elections, benefiting 639 participants.

The workshops were implemented in a number of Community institutions and universities in the governorates of Gaza and the North, as well as community outreach activities that promote the importance of women’s political participation, were carried out by broadcasting three radio episodes: the first entitled "The Role of Elections and Its Importance in Women’s Political Empowerment" hosted by Dr. Ashraf Abu Mustafa - Professor of Law from the University of Gaza. The second one was hosted by Laila Al Mudallal - Journalist and Director of the South Female Media Forum - and was broadcasted on Voice of the People Radio. The third episode entitled "Challenges Facing Women’s Participation in the Elections and the Necessary Interventions", was hosted by Mrs. Fatima Ashour - Lawyer and Community Activist - and was also broadcasted on Voice of the People Radio. The announcement of these episodes were designed, printed and installed as Billboards in vital places in the governorates of Gaza and the North, in addition to the design of a motion graphic video, as well as the establishment of a Twitter hashtag #Women_Participation_Future_Society.

The project activities were concluded by holding a dialogue meeting entitled "Palestinian Women and Elections: Reality, Challenges and Objectives" in the presence of 70 representatives of institutions, universities, and community activists.
