This report sheds light on public policies to combat domestic violence in Spain, which are regularly cited as a model at European and global level. The objective is to provide knowledge on the legislative, institutional and budgetary framework and the functioning of Spanish systems, in order to offer a comparative perspective with France. This report proposes 10 concrete recommendations for the improvement of public policies to combat violence in France based on the Spanish example.
The report is based on various sources of information: official statistics and reports from the Spanish government, external evaluations produced by international institutions and associations, articles published in the Spanish national and local press, as well as interviews with Spanish experts and representatives of institutions and associations.
