This diagnosis focuses on Jordanian women’ s practice of power and political responsibilities. It analyses existing legislation related to women’s involvement in the public life. It also explores local perceptions in this regard through a survey gauging the opinion of more than 400 people. This survey targeted Ma’anGovernorate using a statistical and participatory approach. It provides insightful findings on social attitudes towards political commitment, the functioning of institutions and leadership through the lens of gender.
