In October 2018, the FIFA launched its first-ever global strategy for women’s football which charts the course for how FIFA will work with confederations and Member Associations (MAs), clubs and players, the media, fans and other stakeholders to realise the full potential that exists within the women’s game. This strategy is based on three key objectives, namely: Increasing the number of women involved in football around the world; improving the commercial value around women’s competitions; building solid foundations as a more sophisticated environment and increased presence of women in leadership positions will help modernize the direction of football.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
