The report reviews the various successes achieved in 2018 in Egypt in favour of women at the political, economic and legal levels, such as the Disability Rights Act, which gives mothers responsible of caring for a disabled child the right to reduce the duration of their work in government agencies one hour a day, and which criminalizes the forced sterilization or illegal abortion of women with disabilities.
The report also presents several recommendations for the political and economic empowerment of women, the fight against violence against women and the improvement of the educational conditions of girls and women.
