This article looks at the working conditions of Jordanian women in the factories, taking Zarqa region where training and professional development opportunities are limited as a case study. These conditions reduce women’s chances to be promoted or to have access to decision making positions within factories.
The article is based on a field diagnosis in Zarqa region in the north-east of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This diagnosis was conducted by the Jordanien Forum for Business and Professional Women- Forum (JFBPW) in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation (FFEM) and the European Institute of Mediterranean (IEMed).
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
