This NGO guide will help build the capacity of NGOs and women’s human rights activists to advocate for the rights and empowerment of women and girls. The UN Commission on the Status of Women, the main UN body responsible for gender equality and women’s empowerment, is the main case study. This guide is a component of a project called “Training for Advocacy and Capacity Building” carried out by NGO Committee on the Status of Women/New York in collaboration with the Global Coordinating Committee. Besides providing and advocacy toolkit, the guide provide practical recommendations and examples and how NGOs could influence UN intergovernmental process and negotiations.
