UN resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security

15.06.2018 / Created by (EMWF)

Adopted on 31 October 2000, UN resolution 1325 was the first serious step taken by the UN Security Council to address the disproportionate and unique impact of armed conflict on women. The resolution recognizes the under-valued and under-utilized contributions women make to conflict prevention, peacekeeping, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. 1325 stresses the importance of women’s equal and full participation as active agents in peace and security.
