The book is part of the Women and Memory Foundation’s efforts to support feminist thinking and theories in the Arab world by translating the cultural knowledge of Western educational institutions into the Arabic language, in order to promote and encourage intellectual exchange.

This book contains many important articles in the field of gender studies, and is divided into two parts: The first deals with an overview of the debates on women and gender in American political science, and its different sub-disciplines. The second part deals with political science studies in the Middle East and regional and international debates on gender issues and concerns.
