Women, Business and the Law 2018 is the 5th edition in a series of biennial reports measuring the legal obstacles to women who engage in economic activity around the world. The analysis draws on newly-collected data across seven indicators: accessing institutions, using property, getting a job, providing incentives to work, going to court, building credit, and protecting women from violence.
This report covers data for 189 economies including 16 that were not covered in the previous report like Cyprus, Libya and others. It also presents a case study on women’s financial inclusion and the law examining how legal and regulatory environments influence women’s demand for financial services.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
