Feminism and the Islamic Perspective - New Horizons for Knowledge and Reform

12.03.2018 / Created by (EMWF)

This book explores the intersection of the feminist perspective and research on Islamic topics related to women’s lives. It covers various aspects and approaches from different angles. The work is the documentation and outcome of a conference held on 17 and 18 March 2012 in Cairo with the participation of researchers from the Arab world and Europe. The conference served as a platform for dialogue and ties building on various levels. It brought together Arab and European women to share knowledge about women’s issues in Islamic culture in two different contexts. It was an opportunity for Muslim feminists in Arab and European societies to meet and explore common issues or different priorities.
