This book is a revised version of two chapters of a doctoral dissertation submitted by Islah Jad to the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. The aim of this research is to explore the impact of the establishment of the Palestinian Authority on Palestinian women’s / feminist movements from a gender perspective and to examine changes in the composition of these movements in order to adapt to a new era of "state-building". It also highlights the great challenges faced by these movements as they face two fundamental tasks: continuing the national struggle and contributing to state-building, while at the same time seeking to press for women’s rights.
