While the participation of women is decisive for the economic and social development of Morocco, their presence in decision-making positions remains weak. This diagnosis focuses on the legal, socio-economic, cultural and individual factors that impede women’s access to leadership positions. It is based on consultations with representatives of civil society organizations, trade unions and political parties.
This field diagnosis is part of the Axis 1 “Strengthening the capacities of equality actors” of the Priority Solidarity Fund “Women for the future in the Mediterranean” funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in the framework of the project “Developing Women’s Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
