Women in the Gaza Strip, particularly women with disabilities, are facing great challenges to access informal and formal justice system at all levels. This research aims at identifying their real situation and revealing their knowledge with regard to the justice system, as well as their interrelation with these systems. Also, determining the prominent difficulties and challenges they face to access justice system, then; having recommendations that would contribute to their access to the informal and formal justice system and their rights. The study is based on data collected from (988) disabled women and girls in Gaza Strip’s five governorates, in addition to deep interviews with (14) individual and (6) focus groups.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
