This guide aims to improve the capacity of national human rights institutions to protect and promote women’s rights and gender equality. It provides examples and questions to consider to guide national human rights institutions in strengthening their institutional capacities and practical activities in the area of women’s rights and gender equality. The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) prepared this guide based on research and drafts by Pearl Eliadis, a lawyer who has worked extensively with national human rights institutions at international level for nearly two decades.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
