In this interesting interview with La Dépêche, the president of the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation, Fouzia Assouli, highlights the foibles of Moroccan legislations with regard to women’s rights and gender based violence. She also mentions how some officials use Islam as a pretext to prevent the amendment of existing laws, and calls for the adoption of a comprehensive framework against gender-based violence as well as civil and criminal provisions
