This kit provides basic information on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), ratified by Tunisia on 20 September 1985, and contains a guide presenting the founding principles, the rights defended by this Convention, the obligations arising from its ratification by Tunisia and the existing mechanisms to monitor its implementation. It also contains some data on the situation of rights defended by CEDAW in Tunisia.
The Arabic version of the guide also contains a pamphlet which includes the full text of CEDAW, another booklet which disseminates the rights defended by CEDAW, and a document on the criticisms and frequently asked questions about this convention.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
