Within its strategic objective to deepen the global dialogue and democracy by promoting good governance in Palestine through the enhancement of women and youth participation in policy development and decision-making in Palestine, MIFTAH published this report as part of its project for the promotion of national efforts to pressure concerned parties for fair representation of women and youth at decision-making levels, within the Palestinian political system, and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in particular.
By scrutinizing the existing politics, literature and regulations of the PLO, conducting in depth interviews with number of the leading and eminent political, social, feminist and young figures, besides number of meetings with young activists, the report provide detailed analysis of the different obstacles that prevent women and youth from accessing decision-making positions and having fair political representation in the political life in Palestine, and the PLO in particular.
The project was implemented in partnership with the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation and with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development.
