This study analyzes the effectiveness of gender equality policies and the issue of gender-based violence (GBV) in the Marrakech-Safi region. The diagnosis is based on a holistic approach. First, it addresses the socio-demographic characteristics and political representation of women in the Marrakech-Safi region. Secondly, it focuses on the impact of local policies in the fight against GBV, in particular in the field of early marriage. This document provides an overview of the progress made and the remaining challenges in terms of implementing international laws on women’s human rights at the local level. To this end, the Federation of Women’s Rights Leagues in Marrakech-Safi mobilized numerous actors such as NGOs, the research group on women’s studies at the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, state institutions, regional authorities, etc.
