Social security in relation to gender equality

26.05.2017 / Created by (EMWF)

Reflection on social security in relation to gender equality. The author finds that the social protection system was set up in France at the end of the Second World War and that it meets the objective of ensuring that all citizens have livelihoods in cases where they are unable to work. “Social protection must evolve, relying in particular on equality between women and men to think and establish new rights. It must be a tool for social progress and the application of human rights’’ says the author.
