The creation of the Commission on Data and Knowledge of Abortion is part of the measures that Marisol Touraine, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, announced on January 2015, as part of the National Action Program to Improve Access to Voluntary termination of pregnancy. The Commission, which was set up in June 2015, brought together the main data producers, representatives of healthcare professionals, researchers and institutions and associations concerned by abortion. Its objectives were to establish a shared understanding of current knowledge and its limitations, and to propose possible recommendations to improve this knowledge. This report presents the results of the work carried out by the Commission over a period of one year.
