The concept of gender equality or equality between men and women is that men and women are treated equally, and this concept is built on the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights, as the Charter of the United Nations of 1945 clearly states the equality of men and women in rights, In 1948, the right to freedom of all persons and their equal dignity and human rights, and the prohibition of discrimination against women. In addition to this, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women was adopted in 1979 and one of the main objectives of achieving sustainable development is the goal of achieving full equality between men and women on the level of human rights and citizenship rights; enabling women and their full and equal participation in all political activities, Including participation in decision-making and participation in the management of public affairs alongside men, is a prerequisite for achieving the principles of equality and equal opportunities for men and women.
