In January 2015, for the 40 years of the Veil Law, Marisol Touraine, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, announced the implementation of a national action plan to improve the access to the Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy (VTP). Among the various measures to implement this plan, the program created a Committee to collect data and build knowledge around the Voluntary Termination of Pregnancy, and coordinate the actors efforts for a better analysis of data and knowledge related to this topic, as well as to understand the trajectory women take to access VTP. The research is led by the Research, Studies, Evaluation and Statistics Directory, and this report features the results of the Committee’s research in this regard.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
