One of the five objectives of the Council of Europe Gender Equality Strategy for 2014-2017 is to work with member States towards guaranteeing equal access of women to justice in order to address this situation. The Strategy establishes that action in this area will include “the identification, collection and dissemination of existing remedies and good practices to facilitate women’s access to justice”. This compilation of good practices is intended to provide examples of promising activities implemented in Council of Europe member States in this field.

This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
