Forgotten women : the impact of islamophobia on Muslim women

29.12.2016 / Created by (EMWF)

Muslim women face the same inequalities in employment and physical and verbal violence as other women, but these inequalities are reinforced by factors such as (perceived) religion and / or ethnicity. Nevertheless, few measures are being taken to collect data on this phenomenon and to put an end to this intersectional form of racism. This is the conclusion of the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) "Forgotten women: the impact of Islamophobia on Muslim women" report, which covers seven European countries: Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Sweden.
