This study was prepared in the framework of the project LANA: Transformative Political Identities for Gender Equality in Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon´´, which focuses on individuals as change makers. The project aims to increase women’s participation in decision making within the private and public sphere in these countries. This diagnosis examines the Lebanese case, it explains the working methodology, data collection and analysis, in addition to a description of the sample of personalities covered by the study: 1) Change makers, men and Women in local communities; 2) decisión makers; 3) Opponents and allies and stakeholders whom have been identified or met during field work in Lebanon. Finally, it reviews the results of the study and the major challenges that impede the progress of women's rights in Lebanon.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
