This guide casts light on the relationship between gender equality and climate change, and its importance in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. It presents principal conceptual and methodological advances on gender relations in the context of climate change, with the overall objective of providing guidelines for actors, practitioners and consumers in this relatively new programme area. The guide aims to explain why it is necessary to include women’s voices, needs and expertise in climate change policy and programming, in order to enhance the effectiveness of climate change measures.
