This study examines the electoral systems in Egypt, and whether or not they encourage the participation of women in the local administration. It aims at finding out the most appropriate systems for the application of the quota specified in the Constitution.The study focuses on a number of topics, such as: the importance of the municipalities; Constitutional and legal framework for the status of women in municipalities; the impact of women's participation in municipalities ;administrative decentralization and its impact on women; the impact of electoral systems on women; electoral systems in other countries.
