14.10.2016 / Created by CWSSPC

A compilation of best workplace practices that address gender-based violence developed within the project “Companies Against gendeRbased ViolencE – CARVE” which aims to raise awareness and prevent gender related violence committed against women through a comprehensive European campaign involving companies. The guide presents the perspectives of individual companies which have helped and supported women who have experienced violence, as well as general, applicable advice which can be distilled from these best practices. It also provides information on the policies and initiatives tackling gender-based violence and on the economic costs and impacts of this phenomenon at the workplace. The guide draws on the insights gained from collecting case studies and from interviewing more than 150 companies and organizations in five countries as well as on bibliographical research with regard to the legislation and policies about gender-based violence in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece and Spain.
