This report highlights some of the UN Women’s work and initiatives during the year 2015-2016, it provides summary financial statements, a list of new programmes and projects, and contact information. It explains the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development which recognizes the transformative power of women and girls. The report calls for parity at all levels in political, economic and public life, and emphasises on empowering women to boost economies and advance their role in peace-making, mobilizing humanitarian action for women, and ending violence against women and girls.
