This report sheds light on the multiple human rights violations that Syrian girls and women are witnessing, inside the country, and while fleeing the conflict as refugees. It focuses on issues such as: women and girls’ access to education; access to healthcare; gender-based violence; forced and early marriage; and "honour" crimes. The report also addresses the discriminatory laws against women in Syria, and the importance of the implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1325, in order to guarantee Syrian women a place in peace negotiations and reconstruction process.
This platform is part of the Axis 1 "Strengthening the capacities of equality actors" of the Priority Solidarity Fund "Women for the future in the Mediterranean" funded by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and led by the European Institute of the Mediterranean, in the framework of the project “Developing Women's Empowerment” labelled by the Union for the Mediterranean.
