During the last few years, the Lebanese economy has been affected negatively, both by the global economic crisis, and the civil war in neighbouring Syria.This case study focuses on the experiences of nine Lebanese microfinance institutions (MFIs) who partnered with the Lebanon Investment in Microfinance (LIM) Program to improve women’s access to finance in Lebanon. It highlights the impact of supporting women in entrepreneurship on poverty and for stabilizing a struggling economy.
